  68. This package contains Grammar Slammer (Version 1.0), by James Bair.
  69. This document contains only a brief description of the package and its
  70. features, along with instructions for its installation. More detailed
  71. documentation is included in the package, but it is in archived form, and
  72. is more easily read after installation.

  74. If you have ever wanted grammar information at your fingertips, if you
  75. wanted to answer those questions that grammar checkers ask you, if you
  76. just are not sure where the comma goes...then Grammar Slammer is for
  77. you. It goes beyond a checker and is far easier than an online grammar
  78. book. It will slam your grammar agony!

  80. Grammar Slammer is a shareware program.  This evaluation version includes
  81. all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.  You may
  82. use it for up to 30 days, without charge (see GRAMSLAM.TXT for more
  83. details).  If you like the program, and wish to continue its use after
  84. this evaluation period, you are required to pay for the program (see
  85. GRAMSLAM.TXT for more details).  Any fee you may have paid to others
  86. (disk vendors, dealers, etc.) to obtain this evaluation version was a
  87. fee for their copying and distribution services, rather than a payment
  88. for continued use of the program.

  115. ===== Installation =====================================

  117. To get started, you must install the file VBRUN300.DLL in the
  118. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. If you use a number of Windows programs, it is
  119. probably already there. If not, this file is available from most
  120. online services, bulletin boards, and software dealers, usually at no
  121. additional charge.
  122.  
  123. Then simply run SETUP.EXE, and GRAMMAR SLAMMER will set itself up in any
  124. Windows version 3.0, 3.1, NT, or 95. You can run SETUP.EXE by choosing
  125. the "File|Run" Menu option in the Program Manager and entering SETUP.EXE.
  126. (In Windows 95 the "Start|Run" option on the taskbar does the same
  127. thing). You may also run SETUP.EXE by double-clicking on the SETUP.EXE
  128. name from File Manager (or Windows Explorer in Windows 95).

  132. ===== Running GRAMMAR SLAMMER========================================

  134. To run the program, double click on the new GRAMMAR SLAMMER icon you just
  135. installed. (Single click in Windows 95). All you see is a little toolbar
  136. with three buttons or icons.  This toolbar stays on top of any word
  137. processor or program which is running in Windows. Click on the left
  138. button with the "G" and GRAMMAR SLAMMER will appear. When you are done
  139. using GRAMMAR SLAMMER, click on the "Close" button, and you will return
  140. to your program, with the Grammmar Slammer toolbar ready for you to use
  141. again when you need to.

  143. Click on the middle button with the universal "Stop Circle" and the
  144. program will close. Click on the right button with the Question Mark and
  145. a Windows menu will appear giving you some choices to position the
  146. toolbar where you want it, ask for help, turn the pop-up help boxes off
  147. and on, and get additional information.
